Faustina Jackson

Beloved long time resident Faustina Jackson passed away on Thursday, August 30, 2004 at Tucson Medical Center.


Faustina Jackson was born on February 27, 1916 at Fort Huachuca, Arizona to Mr. John D. and Dollie Horton. Her father was a Buffalo Soldier with the 25th infantry regiment at Fort Huachuca. For a short time, Faustina lived in Globe, Arizona returning to Douglas after the passing of her mother. She then settled in Douglas making it her permanent residence for over seventy-five years.

Mrs. Jackson was a member of the Horace Davis American Legion Post 46 and Post 11. She was also a charter member of the Queen City Chapter #5 order of the Eastern Star until the chapter closed in 1998. She worked as their treasurer and past conductress. Faustina was employed at the Cochise County Hospital as a cook, retiring after thirty years of service.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Neal Jackson, brother Samuel Horton and granddaughter Kim T. Williams.

Faustina Jackson is survived by her son, Walter Joe and his wife Corry Williams of San Jose, California, granddaughter Dana M. and her husband Daniel James of Washington, D.C., Ingrid M. Williams of San Diego, California, Daniel M. Williams of Phoenix, Arizona and grandson Darrell J. Williams of Los Angeles, California. Along with many other loving extended family member and friends.

Visitation will be held today from 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. in the chapel at Adair Douglas Funeral Chapel. The funeral service will be held September 4, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. at the Foothills Christian Church. Burial will follow at the Calvary Cemetary.

Adair Douglas Funeral Chapel is handling all the arrangements.
