The Douglas Golf and Social Club will now be managed by the City of Douglas.

On Monday, the city council approved third reading of ordinance 04-871, which terminated the management agreement and lease agreement with the golf course and the recreational vehicle park beginning Dec. 31, 2004.

The ordinance also transfers the operations of the golf course and RV park to the Community Development department.

The council also approved third reading of ordinance 04-872, which established golfing fees at the golf course effective Jan 1, 2005.

The fees are: $150 per quarter for each person; $200 per quarter for each family.

For individual students through high school and under the age of 19, the fee is $50 per quarter.
