Curves of Douglas will be participating in the Curves Food Drive to benefit local food bans.

Last year, the Curves Food Drive collected 10.6 million pounds of food for local communities all over the world. That's almost 3 million pounds more than the year before!

In Douglas we donate our food items to the House of Hope. We are having a contest with the Nogales Curves. Last year Douglas won donating 1,500 pounds of food!

To celebrate the generosity of the community, Curves is waving its normal service fee for any new member who brings in a bag of non-perishable groceries and joins between February 27 and March 11. Last year, more than 251,000 new members joined Curves during the Food Drive.

Others wishing to donate may drop-off non-perishable food items at Curves Monday through Friday during business hours through the month of March.

"The Curves Food Drive is always exciting," said Debbie Hayes, the owner of the Douglas club. "We have a chance to help so many people at a time when the food banks are lowest. It's win-win situation for everyone, and we're very proud to participate."

With nearly 10,000 locations worldwide, Curves is the largest fitness franchise and the fastest growing franchise company in history. Curves offers a 30-minutes workout that combines strength training and sustained cardiovascular activity through safe and effective hydraulic resistance.
