4th Annual Solar Cook-off and Expo at Bisbee Farmers Market
The 4th Annual Solar Cook-off and Expo will be held on June 10at the Bisbee Farmers Market. Solar cooks should bring their ovens and their favorite dish to prepare in the sun. The market, which is normally open from 8 a.m. to noon, will stay open until 1 p.m. to allow mid-day cooking. Solar chefs will hold a pot luck at the end of the expo and can share techniques all morning. Some ovens are slow cookers while others exceed 350 degrees and can cook most anything a conventional oven can. Solar cooking doesn't heat up the kitchen and uses free energy from the sun. Solar ovens, solar cookbooks and plans for building solar cookers will be for sale. Visit solar vendors who sell and demonstrate solar hot water heaters, solar well pumps, photovoltaic systems and more. Anyone interested in purchasing a solar oven should ask about the group buy available only at the Expo.

He gets to drink beer with it. Well, "It is what it is," as current parlance goes. It's almost Father's Day: Buy meat.
