It's back by popular demand! Grab a blanket, a picnic basket and your family and friends, it's time to head to your local park where sunset means the show is about to begin!

This summer, residents of Benson, Douglas and Tombstone will enjoy relaxing evenings of entertainment under the stars with the Family Summer 2006 Movies in the Park series from Cox Communications.

Families can bring lawn chairs, blankets and refreshments and watch a popular G-rated film on a large outdoor screen. Bought to local communities by Cox Communications, the program was a huge success in 2005, the first summer movies were shown in local community parks. Cox works closely with city and town halls and the local chambers of commerce to bring the series to local residents.

"It's wonderful to see people young and old coming together in droves to enjoy their local park," said Tim Cervantes, Operations Manager for Cox Communications Cochise and Santa Cruz Counties. "Last year nearly 1,000 people attended the movies. It's gratifying to watch people enjoying wholesome entertainment together under the stars."

Family Summer 2006 Movies in the Park are scheduled as follows (all movies start at sunset):

ˆ June 9 - Benson Veteran's Park

ˆ June 23 - Tombstone County Court House

ˆ July 4 - Douglas Veteran's Park

ˆ July 7 - Benson Veteran's Park

ˆ July 16 - Douglas Veteran's Park

July 28 - Tombstone County Court House

"This event is a great way to bring the community together for an evening of quality entertainment and family fun," said Anne Doris, vice president and systems manager for Cox Communications, Southern Arizona. "Family Summer 2006 is an example of what we can offer here in Arizona with our beautiful weather and the best technology."
