An oath of office is scheduled for the 2006 elected councilmen at Wednesday's city council meeting.

Michael Gomez, Ivan Huish were re-elected in March of 2006. Mitch Lindemann and Michael Molina, also elected in March, are new members to the council.

Rudy Quiñonez and Sergio Mendez will be leaving office in June. Mayor Ray Borane will present a ten-year powerpoint report on the city projects that have been accomplished during those ten years.

Afterward, Borane will swear in Lindemann and Molina as the new councilmen.

In other action the council will:

ˆ Discuss ordinance 06-896, which relates to the privilege license tax.

ˆ Discuss adopting the tentative estimates of the amount required for the public expense of the City of Douglas for the fiscal year 2006-2007; and adopting a tentative budget and setting forth the receipts and expenditures; the amounts actually levied and the amounts estimated as collectible for the previous fiscal year; the amount proposed to be raised by various means; and giving notice of the time for hearing taxpayers on the adoption of final budget; and fixing the tax levy.
