Field set for Kolbe's successor

PHOENIX - Six Democrats, a Libertarian and five Republicans have filed to become their party's nominee in the Congressional District 8 race in November to replace 11-term Republican U.S. Rep. Jim Kolbe, according to the Arizona Secretary of State.


However, first the Democrats and Republicans have to win their party primary race in September.

Seeking the Democratic Party nod are:

€ Alex Rodriguez, PO Box 57489, Tucson AZ 85711. Telephone: (520) 275-0519. He turned in 1,155 signatures.

€ Francine Shacter, 4301 North Camino del Obispo, Tucson AZ 85718. Telephone: (520) 529-4735. She turned in 838 signatures.

€ Patty Weiss, 2320 East Adams St. Tucson AZ 85719. Telephone: (520) 319-1983. She turned in 2,219 signatures.

Libertarian David F. Nolan, 6432 East Sun Circle, Tucson AZ 85750, Telephone: (520) 326-3550 who turned in 15 signatures.

Republicans who filed for their party's nod are:
