Food City to offer holiday assistance to deserving families

Douglas, Ariz. - Dec. 7, 2006 -Food City has kicked off its annual "Espiritu de Compartir" (Spirit of Sharing) holiday program and is encouraging the community to nominate a family they feel to be deserving of a holiday care package.


Food City will provide 50 families with an "Espiritu de Compartir" care package, consisting of two grocery bags filled with a variety of food items to assist them with their preparations for the holidays. Nominations will be accepted through Dec. 13 and should be in the form of a letter, detailing why the family should be selected to participate.

Entries with the most compelling stories will be chosen to receive a care package and selected families will pick up their packages on Dec. 16 between 10 a.m. - 11 a.m. at Food City Supermarket, 1300 San Antonio Ave. Douglas, 85607.

"Our commitment to families extends throughout the year," says Food City Vice President Robert Ortiz. "Food City is proud to assist deserving families during the season of sharing through our "Espiritu de Compartir" program.

All nomination letters must include the name, address, and telephone number of the family that is being nominated. The name, address and telephone number of the person submitting the nomination must also be included.

All nominations letters should be mailed to: La Tremenda Radio, Attention: Espiritu de Compartir, 203 First St. PMB 183 Douglas, AZ 85607.
