The following Cochise College events are taking place during the next two weeks:

Micro Business on the Border

Douglas Campus, Student Union

9 a.m. - 3 p.m.

Registration: $10; simultaneous translation will be provided in English and Spanish

Participants in this second annual symposium on alternative economic development will share successes and barriers of existing projects; establish mentoring alliances and best-fit partnerships; expand knowledge of resources; identify sources of financing; and identify best practices to teach financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and good business practices. Sponsored by the Cochise College Center for Southwest Studies and Center for Economic Research, DouglaPrieta Works, Just Coffee, and Frontero de Cristo, with participation from Katalysis, Borderlinks, BanComún, Mexican Consul, PPEP, and Douglas Business Incubator. Guitarist Matt Gould and violinist Beth Ilona Schneider explore folk music of many cultures and commission new music for a new century.
