The twenty actors who compose the Bisbee Repertory company are a versatile lot. They have recently acted in such diverse plays as "Marriage is Murder," "Bisbee or Bust" about the roaring early days of the copper mining town and "Nunsations" which tells the story of five nuns from Hoboken,New Jersey who aren't the usual type of clerical sisters.

Ace Edwards who heads the program at the site of the original First Baptist Church built in 1904 now turned into a pink stucco dinner theatre is a composer by profession. For the last 20 years he has been in Paris where he still returns often to play his music.

In fact, in September he will be taking 12 tourists abroad to Alsace in France on the "Route de Vin" tour, a visit to the wine country and unique country inns on the way. The price is $1600,not including airfare, and may be still open if someone calls soon to reserve a space.

The Old Bisbee Repertory Theatre show is $14.50 for open seating (on wooden church pews) and is a small area with graduated levels so the show can easily be viewed.

Edwards said the Episcopal Church in Douglas has invited his group to do the play "Nunsations" as soon as he returns from Europe. However, discussions are still being made as to the exact date.

He is also working on a show which he calls a story telling evening for adults to be held April 20 and 21st called "Ghost Stories-Strange Appearances" where dinner and theatre goers will be visited by ghosts during courses in their dining. The dinner is $14.00 and special offerings in fish, meat and poultry are part of the selection.

When in Bisbee, to be entertained in style, visit this theatre. It promises to be a cosmopolitan evening, complete with a glittering chandelier lighting a grand piano, fresh white tablecloths for dining, all to make this a festive evening. Phone 234-6732 for more information or for information on the tour to Alsace in France.

The theatrical intern this year has been Krista Tettaton, a graduate in theatre studies who will be headlining a production of "The Phantom of the Country Opera" the third week of May.
