Lori Leonard spent her first 44 years in New England, feeling all the while the lure of the Southwest. Setting foot on Arizona soil in 2002, she knew she had found her natural home. Her camera and paints now out of retirement, the never ending beauty of Cochise County feeds her creativity in new and exciting ways.
Lori photographs the natural beauty hidden within everyday screens of nature: the brilliant purples and finks found on the green grasshopper, the corals within the browns and tans of a horned toad, the rounded tense muscles of a bull standing alert. Painting with acrylics, and sometimes using Adobe Photoshop, allows Lori to widen the boundaries of creativity in her artwork. The goals of her artwork are to please the eye and the soul through color combinations, movement or quietude, and to have work enjoyable and affordable to all.
The exhibit will be at The Gallery, 625 10 th Street.
