According to the Cochise College Center for Economic Research's latest biweekly survey of gas prices, conducted during the week of April 9, the average price of a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline in Cochise County increased to $2.88 from $2.71 over the two-week period. According to AAA Arizona, the statewide price rose from $2.76 to $2.90. Nationally, according to the Energy Information Administration, gas prices increased from $2.61 to $2.80 during the two-week period.

One year ago, the nationwide average price of a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline, according to the EIA, was $2.68, which is 12 cents less than its current price. At the state level, according to AAA Arizona, the price a year ago was $2.42, which is 48 cents less than the current price per gallon. At the county level, according to the CER survey, the price a year ago was $2.64, which is 24 cents less than the price from the most recent survey.
