"Tim purchased the frame for this bike from SAT Motorsports, so he would have a MSO and numbers. He modified it extensively, dropping the seat, making new tabs, footpeg mounts and adding tubing here and there--essentially remanufacturing it entirely, according to the magazine.
"Anyone could go buy one," commented Lindner recently to the Dispatch. "I bought the frame and did all the welding myself," he added.
"I built the gas tank from scratch and did the leatherwork hand-made stitching myself," Lindner said.
The bike is unique, one of a kind and obviously cannot be duplicated. The handlebars fit him perfectly. He also painted it himself to have a clear black cherry look.
Lindner who originally hails from the San Francisco Bay area and rode bikes there says, "I have never been a hard core biker." For instance, he has never ridden with a club like the Hell's Angels.
His favorite thrill about riding a bike: "feeling the wind in your face." "Also, you can see a heck of a lot more," he said with a smile.
The hardest part of riding a bike is the weather. Lindner said the Florida rain was pretty rough. He rides down to see his brother in Daytona and they zoom to Key West which he calls "a beautiful area."
Lindner went to high school in Castro Valley, California and also attended Cochise College majoring in Aviation Maintenance.
He currently is employed as a welder for Homeland Security, a government position.
"My biggest thrill is saying I made it myself," Lindner said.
Lindner is part of a Douglas area motorcycle network he calls Damn Bikers Independent
