Cards top Red Sox in LL play

The Cardinals defeated the Red Sox 3-1 in local Little League play Tuesday.


Junior Franco was the winning pitcher.

Julian Saenz took the loss.

Franco hit 3 for 3 for the Cardinals while Alexio Esquer was 2 for 3 and Rick Trevino 1 for 1.

CJ Estrella hit 2 for 3 for the Red Sox while Michael Hill was 1 for 2.

In the other game Monday the Hot Foot Plumbing D'backs beat the Ortega's Mets 7-1.

Brian Lomeli was the winning pitcher.

Eddie Luzania took the loss.

Tyler Arvayo hit 3 for 3 for the Mets while Marcos Mesa was 1 for 1.

Arturo Hurtado, Victor Campoy and Marky Cota each hit 2 for 3 for the D'backs.

On Monday the Douglas Run/Walk Cubs edged the Backdrop Photography Giants 8-6.

Victor Duran was the winning pitcher.

Alex Montano took the loss.

Damian Miranda hit 2 for 3 for the Cubs while Adrian Pena and Axel Gonzalez each were 1 for 2.

Montano and Gerardo Olivarria each hit 3 for 3 for the Giants while Michael Arzate was 2 for 3.
