Former DHS softball pitcher lands scholarship

With all the focus on softball this week and the University of Arizona as well as a former Lady Bulldog trying to get to the Women's College World Series it's only fitting another former Lady Bulldog is moving on to the collegiate level.

Romero's Lady Bears thump Michigan 9-0
WACO, Texas --- Former Douglas Lady Bulldog Miriam Romero hit 2 for 3 and scored two runs while former Flowing Wells High School standout Ashley Monceaux went 3-for-3 with two home runs and five RBIs as the No. 7 Baylor softball team cruised to a 9-0, five-inning victory over No. 10 Michigan in action at the NCAA Waco Super Regional on Friday. With the victory, Baylor moves within one victory of the Women's College World Series as the Lady Bears improve to 49-13 on the season while Michigan falls to 46-12 with the loss.
