A special show for children and their families is coming to Douglas on Wednesday, June 6. The Zinghoppers are a fun, playful band of musicians, dancers and educators specializing in music and movement for preschool and elementary age children.

Created by the husband and wife team of "Conductor" Jack Norton and "Cowgirl" Kitty, the Nortons are experienced educators each earning a degree in Early Childhood Education at the University of Minnesota. They are joined by their "animal friends" including: Penelope The Possum, Coconuts The Kangaroo and Olo The Donkey.

This upbeat and energetic show features the cast of friends playing a wide range of instruments, dancing, and having lots of fun!

"It's great to see the audiences reactions to the animal mascot characters and to engage families in entertainment that is fun for all ages," said Conductor Jack.

"We are really excited to playing in Douglas - we moved from Minnesota to Arizona earlier this year and are loving the weather, the culture and the friendly audiences in the area," Jack said.

The Zinghoppers debut CD will be released this month and the group is currently touring Arizona libraries, schools and festivals. The performance in Douglas is sponsored by the Public Library and is the kick-off event to the Summer Reading Program.

"My mom is a librarian, and we love playing in libraries, singing about finding adventure in a good book, and helping to promote literacy," said Conductor Jack.

The group performs an average of 200 shows a year for children and families and blends upbeat music, dynamic and playful lyrics, slapstick comedy and humor, along with important educational messages.

Developed by innovative educators, and backed by decades of experience in the entertainment business, the Zinghoppers invite you on a journey of high energy learning and fun!

The Zinghoppers appear in concert for the Douglas Public Library at the 10th Street Park in Douglas, AZ on Wednesday, June 6 at 6:00 PM. This is a free event. For more information, call the Library at: 520-364-3851 or visit online: www.zinghoppers.com.
