Jazz singer at Cafe Roka July 6

Jazz singer Nancy Weaver is pleased to announce her performance schedule at Bisbee's Cafe Roka, 35 Main Street, in July and August. She'll be joining Cool Jazz (guitarist Tom Cook and bassist Paul Lewis) on Friday, July 6 and Friday, August 24, both nights from 5 until 9 pm. Reservations at 520-432-5153.

Nancy will be missing Cool Jazz's upcoming July 27 date at Roka to attend the Port Townsend Jazz Festival in Port Townsend, WA., taking advantage of a chance to receive coaching from the sensational Roberta Gambarini. (Last year, she was among a small group of students coached by 2007 Montreal Jazz Festival headliner, Kurt Elling.)

She'll be eager to explore what she has learned this year at two upcoming performances at the Bisbee Farmer's Market at Vista Park, next to the Warren Ballpark in Bisbee on Saturday, Sept. 15 during the Fall Plant Sale, and Saturday, Oct. 13 during the Plein Aire Contest, both dates from 9 am until noon.

In the meantime she is preparing with members of the Bisbee Community Chorus for their annual Variety Show and Pie Social, "The British are Coming! The British are Coming!" which she is directing. That is slated for the second weekend in September. Times and venue are to be announced.
