A man dressed in full cowboy regalia was arrested Thursday evening in connection with attempted armed robbery of Wal-Mart.

Patrick Shane Johnson, 32, was transported to Cochise County Jail in Bisbee, where he is being held on a $70,000 bond, said Carol Capas, a spokeswoman for the Cochise County Sheriff's Department.

At about 6:45 p.m. Johnson walked into Wal-Mart and handed a note to a clerk at the Customer Service desk, said Marcus Gonzalez, the spokesman for the Douglas Police Department.

The note said, "Give me all your money. I've got a 45."

The clerk handed the note to another clerk, who also read it. One of the clerks called the police on her cell phones. By that time Johnson walked out of Wal-Mart and caught a taxi to Gaytan's.

Johnson returned to the area, though, and was arrested near Family Dollar on 5th Street, Gonzalez said.

Johnson was arrested without incident, Gonzalez said.
