Cochise College, in conjunction with Cochise County Workforce Development One-Stop Centers, is currently recruiting Adult Education students who are interested in pursuing healthcare professions.

New and returning Adult Education students considering a variety of career fields, including certified nursing assistant, medical assistant, emergency medical technician, paramedic, and community health/social services worker may be eligible to receive assistance with tutoring, tuition, books, uniforms, testing, child care and transportation.

The expanded services begin in January and are funded by an $88,000 grant from the Arizona Department of Education.

"A lot of people face obstacles in their personal lives that prevent them from realizing their goals," says Beth Colburn, transition specialist and instructor with Adult Education.

"This grant will help more people access the courses to help them reach their professional dreams and develop relationships at the college that will take them in new directions."

To qualify, students must begin their studies in the Adult Education GED or English for Speakers of Other Languages courses.
