Migrant woman pinned underneath BP agent's vehicle

A migrant women hiding in a bushy lot was injured Friday night when she was pinned underneath an agent's Border Patrol vehicle, Douglas police authorities said.


On Aug. 31 the agent was traveling eastbound on the 600 block of 1st Street when he turned turn into a bushy area, said Marcus Gonzales, the spokesman for the Douglas Police Department.

The agent was looking for a group of migrants in the bushy lot.

The agent stopped his vehicle when he saw two migrants in the area.

When he got out of his vehicle, he found the woman pinned underneath the vehicle, near the right front passenger tire, Gonzalez said.

The woman suffered injuries to the left side of her face, shoulder, arm and leg, he said.

The woman was air evacuated to a Tucson hospital, Gonzalez said. The victim's name was not released.
