Love of Music series begins Oct. 6

The "For the Love of Music" concert season begins with concerts by the Catalina Saxophone Quartet on Saturday, October 6 and Sunday, October 7, 2007.


Catalina Saxophone Quartet

The concerts will be held at The Bisbee Woman's Club, 7 Ledge Avenue, Quality Hill, Old Bisbee. The Saturday concert will be at 8 pm; the Sunday concert will be at 3 pm. Tickets will be available at the door for $10. Students through high school will be admitted free.

The program will include a wide range of music, from J. S. Bach to Ragtime. Tim McAllister will join the quartet to perform Alessandro Marcello's Concerto in C minor, arranged for soprano saxophone and saxophone quartet.

Members of the Catalina Saxophone Quartet were national finalists this past year in the MTNA Collegiate Chamber Music Competition in Toronto, Canada, and have performed in Sedona, in Mexico, and more. The individual members of the quartet are Kimberly Reece, soprano saxophone, Jonathan Wintringham, alto saxophone, Derek Granger, tenor saxophone and J. Adam Briggs, baritone saxophone. They are a camerata touring ensemble from the University of Arizona.
