Coronado National Forest to hold public meetings to discuss Forest roads

Published/Last Modified on Tuesday, September 25, 2007 2:01 PM MDT

The Coronado National Forest is holding an open house to give the public an opportunity to provide input on the motorized transportation system on the Douglas Ranger District:

The open house will be September 27th at the Douglas Visitor Center, 345 16th Street, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm.

Forest Service officials will provide a presentation about the Forest Service's Travel Management Rule and how it will affect motorized transportation and dispersed camping on the Coronado National Forest. Then the public will have a chance to view maps of the current road system and give the Forest Service feedback about the roads and campsites they use.

This open house is a first step in identifying what the future road system will look like on the Coronado National Forest

Those unable to attend this meeting can provide feedback by contacting Laura White at 520-338-8419, or by emailing comments to travel_management@fs.fed.us.
