According to the Cochise College Center for Economic Research's latest biweekly survey of gas prices, conducted during the week of September 24, the average price of a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline in Cochise County dropped slightly to $2.73 from $2.74 over the two-week period. According to AAA Arizona, the statewide price increased from $2.64 to $2.68. Nationally, according to the Energy Information Administration, gas prices fell from $2.82 to $2.81 during the two-week period.

One year ago, the nationwide average price of a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline, according to the EIA, was $2.38, which is 43 cents lower than its current price. At the state level, according to AAA Arizona, the price a year ago was $2.34, which is 34 cents lower than the current price per gallon. At the county level, according to the CER survey, the price a year ago was $2.44, which is 29 cents lower than the price from the most recent survey.
