A two-vehicle accident caused minor injures to both drivers Friday afternoon.

Despite of the severity of the damage the driver escaped without injury. This is the third multi-vehicle accident on the last two days.

Shortly after 1:30 p.m. the driver of a 2007 Cavalier was traveling eastbound on 11th Street and Estrella when she drove through a stop sign.

The driver plowed into a F150 truck. Para- medics checked both drivers and released them at the scene.

The driver of the Cavalier was cited for failing to stop at a stop and for not providing proof of insurance.

In the last two weeks Douglas police have responded to about 12 vehicle accidents.

In many cases drivers are not paying attention to the road, whether it’s because they are on their cell phones or some other distraction.

This distraction has lead to several accidents here that for the most part have not been life threatening.

Police are urging motorists to be more careful while driving. They are also urging motorists to respect police perimeters. Many drivers try to get through police perimeters even though the streets have been block off by squad cars.
