SIERRA VISTA — When Barb Gill awoke on Wednesday morning, she and her family found her daughter, Morgan, missing.

“This is a shock,” the mother said of her daughter’s disappearance.

The 16-year-old remained missing through Friday in what the Cochise County Sheriff’s Office officials say they believe is a runaway juvenile case.

Barb Gill and her husband, Jim, are asking the public to help locate Morgan, who is 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighs about 120 pounds.

Morgan is a junior at Bisbee High School. Her family moved from Sierra Vista to Naco, Ariz., about four months ago.

Barb Gill said the sliding glass door of the family’s home, which is about two blocks from the U.S.-Mexico border, was open on Wednesday morning.

Morgan hasn’t been to school since, and family members haven’t heard from her, Barb Gill said.

Since the discovery of Morgan’s disappearance, family and friends have been passing out fliers and searching for the teen.

Carol Capas, spokeswoman for the Sheriff’s Office, said investigators believe Morgan is a runaway juvenile because there is no indication that she left other than by her own choice.

What is unusual is that Morgan left her belongs behind, Capas said.

The case remains under investigation, and local agencies have been notified that Morgan Gill is missing, Capas said.

If you have information about Morgan Gill, call the Cochise County Sheriff’s Office at 432-9500.

" I hope you find her safe and sound. Have you also notified Mexico Authorities. I would also notify Amerca's Most Wanted and Child Missing Alert. Nancy Grace also. The most important is that we find this young woman as soon as possible. Check the canyons. I pray for the family. Get her picture out there so we can find her safe!! Put this picture out to Sierrva Vista newspaper also. I am a parent and this is important news a young lady's life is on the line. "
