The Douglas Unified School District Governing Board has retained the consultants of Search Solutions to assist them with the search for a new superintendent due to the completion of Gail Zamar’s tenure as superintendent with DUSD effective June 28, 2008. The consultants will be in the community all day on Thursday, November 8th, listening to staff members at all schools and then hosting a community-wide meeting to gather input from the public as to the desired qualifications and leadership skills of the incoming superintendent. The consultants will also explain the search process and answer questions from the audience.


Your assistance in this informational gathering process is vital to a successful search for your community and your schools. All information is gathered anonymously. After the community meeting the consultants will meet with the Governing Board who will discuss the input from the staff and community and officially adopt the profile.

La mesa directiva del distrito escolar de Douglas ha retenido consultores de Search Solutions para asistirles en Ia búsqueda para un superintendente de escuelas nuevo debido a que Ia ocupación de la Sr. Gail Zamar como superintendente con DUSD se termina el día 28 de junio, 2008. Los consultores pasarán este día en la comunidad, escuchando a los empleados de todas las escuelas durante el día, y después se reunirán con miembros del público para recibir información y sugerencias en cuanto las cualidades, habilidades y técnicas como líder que debe tener el superintendente nuevo.     " I agree with 'curiously covert,' it is probably a ploy by the district to gain the public's confidence. Just hope this group does not select another superintendent like "the last two" which the district has been tolerating for the past five years. "

    " Great idea but short on time? When is this group of consultants going to have time to compile and analyze the information collected? It would seem that they would have to take the data, sort it, and come up with a written plan, that is, unless this is just a guise to make the District look like they are giving the public an opportunity to comment. "
