Time for oohs, aahs

An enthusiastic crowd of resident s from all over the region made their way to the Douglas High School Auditorium for the Taste of Home Homemaker’s School “Great Gatherings” event last night.

Home economist Jamie Dunn is one of several from the Taste of Home perform in  more than 300 shows a year. This was the school’s and Dunn’s first  visit to Douglas.

There were oohs and aahs as Dunn demonstrated each of 10 recipes including a twit on your traditional Thanksgiving dinner.

The event was sponsored by The Daily Dispatch, Thomas Home Furnishings, City of Douglas, Douglas High School and participating sponsors.

“We want to thank Bill Thomas and Thomas Home Furnishings for their help in providing appliances. It’s difficult to demonstrate cooking techniques without a stove. Their help was invaluable,” said Larry Blaskey, publisher of The Daily Dispatch.

“The high school staff-especially the maintenance staff- for their help with setup during the day.”

Other sponsors included Food City, Wells Fargo, Interiors by Decorating Den-Susan Kramer, Cochise College, Southeast Arizona Medical Center, Mary Kay-Lisa Scarborough, Bordermart, AZ Ink’d. FRV Metals and Recycling n Safeway.
