In their first news release, Sierra Vista police only mentioned two victims — Jesus Abril, 26, who was shot in the head, and a 17-year-old boy who was shot in the back.
But Wednesday police said a third victim was involved, a 21-year-old man, who was not shot but was in the car with Abril and the teen.
Abril and the teen suffered non-life-threatening injuries, according to police.
According to a statement of factual basis for issuance of the warrant on file at Justice of the Peace District 5 Court, Hall was identified by multiple witnesses, including one of the shooting victims, as the shooter.
After the shooting near the hotel on Sierra Vista’s west side, investigators obtained Hall’s cell phone number and dialed the number, according to the court document. The person who answered identified himself as Hall and told police he was en route to the police station to turn himself in. But Hall did not show up, according to the court document. Sierra Vista police officers later stopped a vehicle driven by a man — whose identify is also redacted in the document obtained from the court by the Herald/Review — who said Hall had been in the vehicle earlier, according to the court document. The man told police he overheard Hall’s conversation with police.
Considering all of this, police believe Hall knows they are searching for him, though his whereabouts are unknown.
Police say Hall is considered to be armed with a weapon and dangerous.
Hall is black, weighs about 220 pounds and stands about 5 feet 11 inches tall. Per the warrant document filed Dec. 28, police requested a $500,000 bond be set if Hall is arrested.
Police responded about 5:30 a.m. on Christmas to the hotel parking lot, 391 E. Fry Blvd., to reports of two vehicles involved in a confrontation, involving a possible collision at the time of the gunfire.
According to the Arizona courts public online access, Hall has never been charged with any violent crimes in the state, but he has multiple drug-related charges and convictions.
According to police, Hall has aliases of “E.K.”, “Enemy Killer” or “Kool.”
