Recycle your trees at no cost until Jan. 19

Now that the Christmas holidays are over, Douglas residents are encouraged to recycle their Christmas trees.


The Douglas Rural Transfer Station on 90 West 9th Street will be accepting trees for recycling at no cost to the public until the 19th of January.

The station operators are asking that tree owners remove nails, tree stands and holiday decorations from the trees before the trees are dropped off at the station.

The station is open from 7:30 a.m. to 3p.m. Monday through Friday. The station is closed on Sundays.
