A public meeting is scheduled to gather community input on a proposed housing development south of the Border Patrol station.

The development, called Copper Sky Master-Planned Community, has proposed 1,360 residential units comprised of 270 single-family residences, 344 town homes, 266 duplexes/patio homes and 520 apartments.

The meeting will be held at Faras Elementary School in Pirtleville from 6p.m. to 7:30p.m.

A major feature is the Copper Sky Village Center with a centralized village commons gathering area that the entire Copper Sky Community can enjoy.

Copper Sky will provide the framework necessary to create a truly interactive lifestyle community.

According to the Copper Sky press release, “The new neighborhoods of Copper Sky will exemplify the inherited character of the best Arizona town, including walkable streets, local pocket parks and playgrounds and a broad mix of housing types.

“A rich network of trails catering to both pedestrian and bicycle traffic will connect the neighborhoods and provide safe access to the Village Center.”

The press release further says that the Village Center has been designed to create and foster a pedestrian friendly environment with a unique scene of place.
