Douglas police are searching for the suspects involved in the burglaries of the Club 3000 and the Bushmaster’s Club.

The suspects took 20 to 30 bottles of liquor from the Club 3000 in two separate thefts.

From the Bushmaster’s Club they stole 38 bottles of liquor, 42 packs cigarettes, and 1,000 CD’s, totaling over $21,000 in goods.

The first burglary was on Jan. 12 at the Club 3000/Bernuchi’s Club.

The suspects gained entry into the building through the rear doors of the club, said Marcus Gonzalez, the spokesman for the Douglas Police Department.

When the police arrived they did not find anyone on or near the building, but did find that three different doors had been forced open, Gonzalez said.

The police called the bartender, who did a walk-through of the bar with the police, and reported that 13-15 bottles of liquor had been stolen.

Seven days later, the Club 3000 was burglarized again. On Jan. 19, between 3p.m. and 10 p.m., police believe that the club was burglarized, he said.

In this case, the suspects forced open the front door and stole 10 to 15 bottles of liquor. The burglars left through the back of the building.

The following night the Bushmaster’s Club was burglarized of over $21,000 worth of liquor, cigarettes, CD’s, and a blue neon wall clock, Gonzales said. The burglars broke into the building through the east side glass door, Gonzalez said.

Gonzalez said investigators believe the burglaries are related and that more than one person is involved in these incidents.

The Douglas Police Department is asking anyone with information on these burglaries to call the police department at 364-9422. Information can be made anonymously and with confidentiality.
