Gas increases slightly across the county

According to the Cochise College Center for Economic Research’s latest biweekly survey of gas prices, conducted during the week of February 11, the average price of a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline in Cochise County increased slightly to $2.95 from $2.94 over the two-week period. According to AAA Arizona, the statewide price dropped from $2.88 to $2.87 per gallon. Nationally, according to the Energy Information Administration, gas prices decreased from $2.98 to $2.96 during the two-week period.


In Benson, the price of a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline remained the same at $3.05 per gallon. In Bisbee, the price increased during the two-week period from $2.91 to $2.94. The price in Douglas rose from $2.90 to $2.91 per gallon. In Huachuca City, the price remained unchanged at $2.94 per gallon. In Sierra Vista, the price of a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline remained the same at $2.88 per gallon. In Tombstone, the price remained unchanged during the two-week period at $2.92 per gallon. Willcox saw gas prices increase slightly from $3.03 to $3.04 during the past month.

One year ago, the nationwide average price of a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline, according to the EIA, was $2.24, which is 72 cents lower than its current price. At the state level, according to AAA Arizona, the price a year ago was $2.22, which is 65 cents lower than the current price per gallon. At the county level, according to the CER survey, the price a year ago was $2.27, which is 68 cents lower than the price from the most recent survey.
