FLAGSTAFF (AP)—Josh Wilson scored 16 points and Kyle Landry had 10 points and 10 rebounds as Northern Arizona beat Sacramento State 73-59 Thursday night.Nate Geiser added 14 points for the Lumberjacks (17-10, 9-5 Big Sky), who remained in sole possession of second place and qualified for the conference tournament after beating Sacramento State for the sixth consecutive time. Loren Leath, Clark Woods, and Justin Williams all scored 12 points each for Sacramento State (4-21, 2-12).

The Hornets were eliminated from Big Sky Tournament contention with their loss against Montana State on Sunday.

Leath’s 3-pointer with 13:02 left in the first half cut Sacramento State’s deficit to 12-11.

But Geiser answered with a 3-pointer two possessions later to spark a 17-6 run over the next 8:36 and the Lumberjacks took a 40-26 at halftime, then coasted from there.

The Hornets’ Vinnie McGhee, who scored a career-high 30 points against Montana State, was held to four points against Northern Arizona—making only one field goal in five attempts.
