When you’re ready to do you tax return, AARP is available to help with your forms.

By Xavier Zaragoza/The Daily Dispatch Frank Grijalva, an AARP electronic recording officer, helps a Douglas woman with her tax returns.

AARP Tax Aides are at the Douglas Public Library each Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 3p.m. to help those with the 1040A form.

“All forms are filed electronically,” said Aurora Enriquez, and instructor and electronic recording officer for AARP tax preparers.

Enriquez said that anyone making $55,000 or less is a good candidate for the AARP service.

But mostly the service is intended for people who fall under a low-income status.

The tax preparers do not make deductions nor do they itemize, Enriquez said.

Filing the 2007 tax return also makes good sense because it will put you on a list for President Bush’s 2008 economic stimulus rebates.

Stimulus rebate notices will be sent out in March, advising people of the rebate process.
