SIERRA VISTA — A commercial truck from Texas rolled Saturday east of Douglas, causing a section of Highway 80 to be closed for about seven hours.
About 5:20 a.m. near mile post 393, the Selective Express tractor-trailer rig rolled, spilling powdered copper. Driver Carlos Alvarez of Socorro, Texas, was flown by EMS helicopter where he was treated and released for his injuries, according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety. He is under investigation for DUI, according to ADPS.
The one-vehicle crash was about 24 miles west of the New Mexico state line, about 26 miles east of Douglas.
