The final votes were counted yesterday in Bisbee in the mayoral race.

While it changed where each candidate placed, it had no impact on the outcome of the race, which Dr. Michael Gomez won with more than 53 percent of the vote.

The votes had to be counted because of the candidacy of write-in Natalio Sabal, who finished with 386 votes.

According to unofficial results, Gomez finished with 872 votes or 53.66 percent. Sabal, 386 votes or 26.8 percent; Cruz Silva took 11.75 percent of the votes cast, or 191 votes;  former councilman Michael "Smokey" Molina received 169 votes or 10.4 percent.
