TUCSON (AP) - A rough day against Arizona ended for Milwaukee starter Jeff Suppan when he was hit by a line drive in the fourth inning of the Brewers’ 8-6 victory over the Diamondbacks on Thursday.

``It was a solid hit,’’ he said of the shot by Gerardo Parra.
In all, Suppan gave up six runs and seven hits, including a home run by Chris Burke in the third inning. Suppan, who has an 11.25 ERA after three spring starts, also walked three batters and struck out one in three-plus innings.
``After getting hit we just wanted to get some ice on it and make sure it doesn’t swell up. I felt fine,’’ Suppan said. ``Normally I would have been able to pitch more. As of right now there is no problem whatsoever. I am anticipating everything is fine.’’
Suppan also gave up a three-run double to Jeff Salazar and a two-run double to Augie Ojeda.
``What I was looking for was to go out here and concentrate on location,’’ he said. ``I fell behind and I had to throw more strikes down the middle, but I felt fine. I felt like I made a lot of good pitches.’’
Arizona starter Micah Owings also had trouble finding the strike zone. He allowed two runs and five hits with three walks in 2 2-3 innings. He struck out four.
Owings, bothered by soreness in the back of his shoulder earlier this spring, said he felt fine despite falling behind batters.
``My pitch count got up. I couldn’t get that early out for the most part,’’ Owings said. ``I have to keep attacking guys and trusting my stuff.’’
Milwaukee loaded the bases against Owings with one out in the first inning, but he escaped the jam with two strikeouts.
The Diamondbacks’ right-hander, expected to be fourth or fifth in the Arizona rotation, said he is starting to throw more from the left side of the rubber. His ERA soared to 11.37 for the spring.
``He struggled a little bit with his command. I thought his stuff was better,’’ Arizona manager Bob Melvin said. ``It seemed like the fastball was getting out of his hand a little better and threw a few more change-ups, some good, some not great.’’
Milwaukee’s Alcides Escobar went 3-for-5 with a double, while Vinny Rottino was 2-for-4 with a triple and two ruins scored. Joe Dillon had a two-run homer.
Arizona’s Conor Jackson was 3-for-3 and scored a run. Salazar was 2-for-4 with three RBIs.
