City Council adopted the official election results Wednesday afternoon.

City wide, only 32 percent of the community turned out to the polls on March 11.

Michael Gomez won the mayoral seat with 905 votes.

Write-in mayoral candidate Natalio Sabal took 402 votes.

Cruz Silva took 202 votes and Michael Molina took 177 votes.

Because Ward 1 candidates Alfredo Garcia and Margaret Morales did not get 50 percent of the vote, a run-off election is set for May 20.

Of  5,417 registered voters in Douglas, only 1,727 people voted in the March 11 primary elections.
