Cochise College TRIO/Student Support Services and the Jewish Federation of Southern Arizona will host a series of programs about intolerance and discrimination in March and April.

The series begins Monday, March 31 with Holocaust presentations by high school and university scholars and screening of the film “The Devil Came on Horseback.”

On Monday, April 7, Holocaust survivors will give presentations about their experiences.

The series continues Monday, April 14, when Wendy Theodore, professor of African Studies and Humanitarian Concerns at the University of Arizona, speaks about genocide in general and what individuals can do to confront genocide. A second speaker will talk specifically about Guatemala.

Cochise College TRIO/Student Support Services and the Jewish Federation of Southern Arizona formed the partnership to address their shared goals of increasing awareness of contemporary humanitarian issues and providing examples of how individuals and local organizations are responding.

All programs run from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Little Theatre on the Douglas Campus of Cochise College. The events are free and open to the public. Limited space is available, so contact Daniel O’Meara, director of the TRIO/Student Support Services at Cochise College, at (520) 417-4708 or omearad@cochise.edu for more information or to reserve a seat.
