Upon performing an immigration traffic stop, agents determined that three occupants in the cab of the truck were here in the United States illegally and the driver was a lawfully admitted permanent resident.
A check of the horse trailer discovered five additional subjects (2 adults and 3 juveniles) that were locked in the horse tack compartment on the trailer.
Inside the vehicle agents discovered two loaded handguns.
After being returned to the Douglas Station for processing, the group was voluntarily returned to Mexico.
The driver is being prosecuted for alien smuggling and endangerment due to the five illegal aliens locked in a compartment on the trailer with no means to exit. The load vehicle, trailer, handguns, and two horses were processed for seizure.
