The property between Pan American Avenue and Kentucky Fried Chicken is once again garnering attention from two businesses interested in locating in that area.

A Carl’s Jr. restaurant and an Aaron Rents, a rent to own furniture store, has expressed interest in the lot.

Carl’s Jr. restaurant is a family –oriented eatery that offers a wide menu. They are mostly found in the Western United States and are in the process of expanding into Canada and Mexico.

Carl’s Jr. was founded by Carl N. Karacher in 1941 and is now owned by CKE Restaurants.

" Carl's Jr. would be nice for a change.Variety is good. What happened to the rumored Long John Silvers we were going to get.An Arby's would be nice too.We could buy here and save time and gas going elsewhere.Have you noticed how many places are in Tucson? You could eat at a different place every night.Douglas is small, but people here like to dine out and would support the eateries,as well as people from surrounding towns.Build it and they will come!I know my family and friends will. " Carl's Junior has great food. I think what needs to close up shop are all the mom and pop taco type places. How many of those do you need? Carl's Junior has many things other than just burgers. This place will at least employ a few people. People in this community need employment. "

" What we need is an Arby's, or Applebee's or someplace to enjoy the atmosphere. NOT ANOTHER burger joint. All we have is Denny's as a sit down relax restraurant. But, that too is getting old. Come on Douglas, bring us something NEW and DIFFERENT. "

" Another hamburger shop. Just what Douglas needs. Maybe if it was combined with a 99 cent store and a taco shop it would fly. Why can't we just get a regular nice dine in restaurant. With the price of gas, it's getting harder to leave town to dine in a nice place. "
