Five Cochise County residents seek District 2 Supervisor’s seat

Five Cochise County residents have set up their committees for the Cochise County Board of Supervisors seat, District 2.


Paul Newman is the incumbent supervisor for District 2.

People interested in running for Board of Supervisors can file their nomination packets and financial disclosure on May 5 through June 4, which is the last day to file.

“They are not candidates until they file their packets,” said Tom Schelling, the Cochise County elections officer.

The five candidates are:

• Harvey Allen of McNeal

• Ann English, McNeal

• Charles Flanagan, McNeal,

• Joe Green, McNeal

• Matthew Cook, Bisbee.

Write-in candidates’ last day to file is July 24 at 5 p.m. for the Primary Elections and Sept. 25 for the General Elections.

The primary elections are on Sept. 2, 2008. The general elections are on Nov. 4, 2008.
