A Border Patrol agent in Douglas was arrested Tuesday evening in connection with domestic violence

Josue Cedres, 21, of the 1200 block of Fairway at the Perilla Apartments north of Douglas, is being held at the Cochise County jail on a $40,000 bond, said Carol Capas, a spokeswoman for the Cochise County Sheriff’s Department.

Cedres is being charged with assault with a deadly weapon, kidnapping, domestic violence assault, domestic violence disorderly conduct, domestic violence threatening and intimidating and domestic violence criminal damage.

Tuesday afternoon Cedres was questioned at the Border Patrol station in Douglas. He was then taken to the Douglas Police department, where he was interviewed by the domestic violence officer. Cedres was later transported to the county jail, said Marcus Gonzalez, the spokesman for the Douglas Police Department.

After the alleged assault, Cedres drove his victim to the Tucson airport, where she was to board an airplane to her home state. At the airport, she reported the assault to the authorities.

Jose Gonzales, a spokesman for the Border Patrol, said Cedres is an agent in Douglas, but he did not say how long he has been with the agency.

Cedres’s preliminary hearing is at 9 a.m. on April 25 in the Justice of the Peace Court 2.
