SIERRA VISTA — In the last week, two illegal immigrants have been arrested by the U.S. Border Patrol in connection to sex-related offenses.

On Friday, a Douglas Border Patrol agent arrested Mexican national Domingo Marquez-Perez, after his fingerprint information revealed him to have previous immigration and criminal history, according to the Border Patrol’s Tucson Sector public information office.

Marquez-Perez had been arrested in North Carolina in 2005, on charges of statutory rape of a child age 6 or older and indecent liberties with a child. He pleaded guilty to the charges and was sentenced to 20 months in jail.

And Tuesday, an agent from the Willcox Station arrested Juan Santana, of Michoacan, Mexico, who was also in the United States illegally, the Tucson Sector office said.

Santana was arrested and convicted in Michigan on charges of criminal sexual misconduct with force or coercion and was sentenced to 205 days in jail.

Santana’s criminal history record also showed convictions for carrying concealed weapons and assault with dangerous weapons.

Marquez-Perez and Santana remain in federal detention pending removal proceedings and criminal prosecution.

Yes the border patrols are doing a wonderful
job keeping out the bad immigrants, but I don't
agree with you. Not all are like this, some are actually
looking for jobs. If you want our Border Patrols and the
U.S. Goverment to actually do a good job Keep the good ones with no criminal background in the U.S. give them a job, because you know YOU aren't going to be out on the feild picking vegetables. And Pay them the right amount of money!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! "
