According to the Cochise College Center for Economic Research’s latest biweekly survey of gas prices, conducted during the week of May 5, the average price of a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline in Cochise County increased to $3.50 from $3.43 over the two-week period.

In Benson, the price of a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline climbed from $3.53 to $3.61 per gallon. In Bisbee, the price went up during the two-week period from $3.40 to $3.44.
The price in Douglas increased slightly from $3.48 to $3.49 per gallon. In Huachuca City, the price soared from $3.41 to $3.54 per gallon. In Sierra Vista, the price of a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline increased from $3.42 to $3.50 per gallon. In Tombstone, the price went up during the two-week period from $3.38 to $3.51 per gallon. Willcox saw gas prices increase from $3.35 to $3.40 during the two-week period.
One year ago, the nationwide average price of a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline, according to the EIA, was $3.05, which is 56 cents lower than its current price.
At the state level, according to AAA Arizona, the price a year ago was $3.08, which is 37 cents lower than the current price per gallon. At the county level, according to the CER survey, the price a year ago was $3.03, which is 47 cents lower than the price from the most recent survey.
