Sentencings


The following are sentencings in Cochise County Superior Court, as provided by the court system. The listings include disposition date, charge and sentence. “Monetary” can be a fine or restitution, or both.

• Robert Acosta, 35, Sierra Vista, March 14: DUI–extreme blood alcohol content 0.15 or more first degree; 30 days confinement in Cochise County Jail with monetary, and three years probation.

• Randall Aiken, 54, Tombstone, March 28: negligent homicide; four months confinement in Cochise County Jail with monetary and four years probation.

• Michael Arends, 27, Sierra Vista, March 10: theft; three years probation and monetary/public works service only.

• Edward Barton, 56, March 10: attempted aggravated assault–deadly weapon/dangerous instrument; two years six months confinement in Department of Corrections; drug paraphernalia violation; one-year confinement in the Department of Corrections.

• James Blair, 48, Sierra Vista, March 10: theft–control property; three days confinement in Cochise County Jail with monetary and four years probation; trafficking in stolen property; three days confinement in Cochise County Jail with monetary and four years probation; dangerous drug–possess/use; seven days confinement in Cochise County Jail with monetary and three years probation; drug paraphernalia violation; seven days confinement in Cochise County Jail with monetary and three years probation; and two counts of narcotic drug–possess/use; three days confinement in Cochise County Jail with monetary and three years probation on each charge.

• Randa Brown, 52, Cochise, March 3: disorderly conduct; probation and monetary/public works service only.

• Robert Brown, 48, Benson, March 24: unlawful flight from pursuing law enforcement vehicle; five years six months confinement in Department of Corrections.

• Gilberto Chavez Jr., 26, Tucson, March 31: theft of means of transportation; six years confinement in the Department of Corrections.

• Jack Fraser, 54, Willcox, March 3: theft of credit card/obtained by fraudulent means; 80 days confinement in Cochise County Jail with monetary and one year probation; failure to    appear first degree; one year probation.

• Jose Gastelum, 19, Sierra Vista, March 14: drive by shooting; eight years confinement in Department of Corrections with monetary; tampering with physical evidence; one year confinement in Department of Corrections with monetary.

• Michael Gelia, 41, Hereford, March 17: drug paraphernalia violation; one year probation and monetary/public works service only.

• Nicholas Guerrero, 26, Tucson, March 14: theft of means of transportation; 25 days confinement I Cochise County Jail with monetary and four years probation.

• Alida Hughes, 52, St. David, March 17: narcotic drug–possess for sale; two years six months confinement in Department of Corrections; drug paraphernalia violation; three years probation and monetary/public works service only.

• John Hursh, 31, Sierra Vista, March 3: attempted forgery–offers forged instrument; three years probation and monetary/public works service only.

• Doyle Jongeward Jr., 40, Sierra Vista, March 17: DUI–drug listed in 13-3401 or metabolite first degree; two years six months confinement in Department of Corrections with monetary; DUI–drug listed in 13-3401 or metabolite first degree; three years confinement in Department of Corrections with monetary.

• Tony Kingman, 21, Willcox, March 14: aggravated assault–deadly weapon/dangerous instrument; three years six months confinement in Department of Corrections; disorderly conduct; one year confinement in Department of Corrections.

• Randy Moore, 35, Benson, March 24: resisting arrest–physical force; one year confinement in Department of Corrections; aggravated assault–law enforcement officer; one year confinement in Department of Corrections; drug paraphernalia violation; three years probation and monetary/public works service only; assault–intent/reckless/injure; 180 days confinement in Cochise County Jail; assault–touched to injure; 180 days confinement in Cochise County Jail; disorderly conduct; 180 days confinement in Cochise County Jail.

• Louis Perez, 48, Bisbee, March 27: two counts of aggravated assault–disfigurement/loss/impair/organ; 30 days confinement in Cochise County Jail with monetary and four years probation on each count; DUI–liquor/drugs/toxic vapors first degree; 30 days confinement in Cochise County Jail with monetary and three years probation.

• Anthony Renfro, 31, Show Low, March 10: theft of means of transportation; three years confinement in Department of Corrections with monetary; assault–touched to injure; one year six months confinement                   in Department of Corrections with monetary; arson of occupied structure; seven years confinement in Department of Corrections with monetary.

• Jorge Luis Sainz, 21, Agua Prieta, Sonora, Mexico, March 24: unlawful flight from pursuing law enforcement vehicle; 122 days confinement in Cochise County Jail and three years probation.

• Gregory Schuller, 52, Bisbee, March 10: marijuana–possess for sale; two years six months confinement in Department of Corrections with monetary.

• Brett Smith, 22, Hereford, March 3: burglary third degree; two years six months confinement in Department of Corrections.

• Manuel Toscano, 28, Agua Prieta, Sonora, Mexico, March 10: DUI–drug listed in 13-3401 or metabolite first degree; three years six months confinement in Department of Corrections with monetary.

• Matthew Williams III, 28, Sierra Vista, March 31: attempted DUI–aggravated with drivers license restriction first degree; three years probation and monetary/public works service only.

• Terry Wilson, 56, homeless, March 10: assault–intent/reckless/injure; 150 days confinement in Cochise County Jail; disorderly conduct–fighting; 150 days confinement in Cochise County Jail.
