Since no candidate in Ward 1 received more than 50 percent of the vote during the March 11 primary election, the City Charter requires the two candidates who received the highest number of votes of votes to compete in a run-off election, said Brenda Aguilar, the City Clerk for Douglas.
In the March 11 elections the Douglas community voted Michael Gomez as mayor.
Bon Fernandez was elected to Ward 3; Ray Shelton to Ward 4; Ivan Huish to Ward 5 and Louie Acedo to Ward 6.
