BISBEE — Border Patrol agents stationed in Naco arrested two illegal immigrants who are sex offenders on Wednesday.

Fingerprint checks led to the discovery of an illegal immigrant who is a sex offender.

The individual was arrested and now is being processed for prosecution and removal.

Fingerprint checks also  led to the discovery of another illegal immigrant who is a sex offender.

The individual has an extensive criminal record that includes murder and aggravated assault, and is now facing prosecution for re-entry after deportation of an aggravated felon.

Border Patrol spokesman Mario Escalante said the fingerprint system is highly effective.

“If you change your appearance or you change your name or you try to give us different dates of birth, it doesn’t really make a difference because the system is reading the fingerprint. It checks it through a database through all 50 states and if you committed any felony in those states it will show up,” he said.
