Chamber seeks nominations for annual awards

The annual Douglas Chamber of Commerce Awards Banquet will be held on Saturday, July 19 at Club 3000.


The annual awards banquet features the awarding of Man and Woman of the Year for the city and the Large and Small Businesses of the year awards. The Chamber is still currently taking nominations for those awards until 5 p.m. on Monday, June 16. Nomination forms may be picked up at the Chamber office, located at the Douglas Visitors Center at 345 16th  Street. Nomination forms are also available on Page B4 of this edition.  

Tickets are now available for the annual ceremony at the Chamber or from a Chamber of Commerce Board member.

The cost is $30 a person or $55 a couple in advance or $35 a person or $60 a couple at the door.

The event begins at 5:30 p.m., with cocktails, dinner starts at 6:30 p.m., award presentation at 7 p.m. and a dance from 8 p.m. to midnight. Providing the music is “The Continentals.

One can RSVP by July 1 by calling he Chamber office at 364-2477.
