A drive by shooting led police to arrest two Douglas men for DUI and an outstanding warrant.

At about 8:16 p.m.  Tuesday police received multiple 911 calls concerning shots fired at the 1500 block of B Avenue, said Lt. Carlos Guido, a spokesman for the Douglas Police Department.

Police found multiple casings on the street and secured the area for investigation, he said.

While investigating the scene, police found that a white vehicle had been involved in the incident. The vehicle was later found at Bay Acres. The vehicle had sustained several gunshots, Guido said.

It is not clear just yet if the driver of the vehicle discharged a firearm.

The incident appears to be gang related. More arrests are pending, Guido said.

" Yes, I agree with you "Don't Give Up", but unfortunately we have those parents that do not take the time to instill good values and morals into their children, hence the gang problem. I think it is "noble" that you have these ideas that we need to take care of our own children (my wife and I do) but what do you do about the parents who refuse to be responsible for their children's upbringing? There are still the community issues that must be address by DPD. "

" I really think that if anyone is to take responsiblity for what is going on in our town is our own self. If we want things to change they have to start at home. What are we as parents teaching our children. Don't expect for anyone else to take care of them for you. Our children are our future and we as a community should be more concerned of what we can do to help them. If you think there is no solution then you have given up. Let's instill LOVE and HOPE in our KIDS. "

" Chuey, I understand the role of community involvement and take it very seriously. If I see something suspicious in the neighborhood, I call DPD. I point out to my children the thugs in our town and let them know what they represent. All I am saying is that there are some things DPD can be doing but are not. They can start by simply enforcing curfew and truency laws. They can start raiding known drug houses in our community. How is it that every one knows these houses, but the police do not? "

especially since you are not the one putting your life on the line for others
what is there to be expected, you don't even sign your name to you post

" Our police have jurisdiction in Douglas City limits. Have you "bordercop" taken the time to have Bay Acres occupants sing a petition which will make you part of the city..... I didn't think so. If you had, you would have realized that the state would fund for more police officers, better lighting and such for your sweer "Bay Acres". (PROUD TO BE A SISTER OF A DEPUTY AND POLICE OFFICER). "

" Its funny how fast DPD will go when crossing town to go home, but a shooting in bay acres will take hours to respond, COWARDS, this isnt tucson, or phoenix, man up and do what you are paid to do, not just follow poeple and wait fot them to speed. "

" Yes it is true to say that times have changed and so has our town. When we rely on our police to catch the bad guys, often times we neglect to acknowledge the idea that our citizens as well should speak up and say what they know as well. Even if it comes to snitching anonymously, It may save your kids lives, mine or even an officers life. "

    " to losing hope,
this is a community problem. we need to get involved. our police department is doing the best under the circumstances they are operating under.
we have a new chief who is coming into this community with new ideas from what i can see.
WE as a community need to take over our town and help in kicking these thugs out. as parents we need to help our children feel they are a big part of our own "gangs" - our own families.
thanks to the fine men and women of the douglas police department. "

" My Lord, how bad does it have to get in Douglas before something is done to crack down on our thugs and they are finally run out of town? The city government and police department have to stop hiding their heads in the sand and acknowledge the obvious elephant in the middle of the room. This town has a gang problem. I am affraid that the Douglas I once knew and loved is gone forever and I now question the value of raising my children here. We should not have to fear drive-by's!!!! "
